Birthplace of the world famous composer Leos Janacek, Hukvaldy also offers a glimps into medieval times through the ruins of Hukvaldy Castle. As a memorial to Leos Janacek there is an anual music festival held every year in May.
Natural monument Travertine cascade is an interesting natural phenomenon formed by water flowing from springs rich in calcium carbonate.
One of the important monuments in the village is the church of St Magdalene from early 19th century, built in the place of an old wooden shrine. In 1931 the wooden Church of St. Procope and St. Barbara from the late 17th century (note to self: makes no sense). The church was transported to the village from Sub-Carpathian Ukraine.
